Medicine Information

What is this medicine used for?

• Major depressive episodes
• Panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia)
• Social anxieties
• Generalized anxiety disorder
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder

How much and how often should you use this medicine?

10-20 mg once daily, initially for 2-4 weeks for symptomatic treatment, then 6 months once advised.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Escitalopram or to any of the excipients.

Warnings and Precautions:

Escitalopram should not be used in the treatment of children and adolescents under the age of 18 years. Escitalopram should be discontinued if a patient develops seizures for the first time or if there is an increase in seizure frequency.

Indication

For the treatment of major depressive episodes, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, social anxieties, generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
