What is this medicine used for?

Omeprazole is used for the short-term treatment and symptomatic relief of heartburn that occurs two or more days per week (frequent heartburn).

How much and how often should you use this medicine?

Adult dose:

Orally (by mouth), 1 capsule once a day 30 minutes to 1 hour before breakfast with a full glass of water

Take the medicine for 14 days.

Or, as directed by a doctor.

• Do not take more than 20 mg (1 capsule) per day.
• Do not take a 14-day course more often than every 4 months unless directed by a doctor.
• Capsules should be swallowed whole. Do not split, crush or chew.
• For children under 18 years old, ask a doctor.
